Thomas the Ramsey Town Cat & the Farmers Combine Community Fund

Thomas, the Ramsey Town Cat and proud holder of the Freedom of the Town, has inspired the launch of the Farmers Combine Community Fund, a new initiative created to support groups, and charities within the local community.
Thomas was found as a kitten at the Farmers Combine, where he was taken in and cared for by staff. Over time, he became a familiar and much-loved presence not just at the Combine, but throughout Ramsey. In recognition of his place in the heart of the town, Thomas was formally granted the Freedom of the Town.
With the support of the Combine and the wider community, Thomas is now using that honour to help others.
The Farmers Combine Community Fund has been established to raise money for community causes, with the chosen charity decided each year by public vote. Voting has ended for this year’s charity and the chosen charities are Queen’s Pier Restoration Trust and the Great North Air Ambulance Service. Keep a look-out for our fundraising opportunities such as raffles and competitions!
The project is also supported by Cop y Cat, a Ramsey-based business. Dawn from Cop y Cat manages Thomas’s official Facebook page, sharing moments from his daily life throughout the town – from shop visits and familiar doorsteps to sunny naps and chance encounters – helping the community stay connected to Thomas and the work of the Community Fund. Mark Corrin, Director of the Farmers Combine, commented:
“Thomas has been part of the Combine for many years and is known and loved right across Ramsey. The Community Fund reflects the values we stand for – supporting one another and giving back locally. We’d like to thank Dawn at Cop y Cat for her continued support and for managing Thomas’s Facebook page, sharing his daily life throughout the town; that kind of community spirit is what makes this initiative possible.”
